Are you looking for an exciting PhD opportunity with industry focus? Join the ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Cryo-electron Microscopy of Membrane Proteins (CCeMMP)!
The CCeMMP is working together with partners to develop novel approaches to modulate targets involved in a range of conditions including cancer, infection, bacterial resistance and metabolic disease. The CCeMMP is a collaborative venture between Monash University, The University of Melbourne, University of Wollongong and the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute (WEHI). Our industry partners include Genentech, Pfizer, Astex, AstraZeneca, Servier, Novo Nordisk, Sanofi-Aventis, Dimerix Biosciences, Catalyst Therapeutics and Thermo Fisher Scientific.
The Centre will train industry-ready, world class graduates in cryo-electron microscopy of membrane proteins. Our students will receive advanced training in all aspects of membrane protein cryo-EM, including sample biochemistry, 3D image reconstruction, extraction of protein dynamics, and independent operation of 120kV, 200kV and 300kV instruments that are used for high-resolution structure determination. Our students will also be required to spend 12 months on placement with one of our industry partners and gain invaluable industry experience.
